Made at Number 18 first opened its doors in September 2014 with a simple goal — to create a welcoming café in Alfreton where the community could enjoy great coffee, hearty breakfasts, light lunches, and the occasional afternoon tea as a treat or midweek indulgence.

But it was always about more than food. From the very beginning, Made at Number 18 aimed to be a creative and social space — a place where people could meet, make, and share. Over the years, the café became home to local groups including music sessions, book clubs, photography meetups, knitting circles, and writing classes, all celebrating community spirit and creativity.
